Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig in September 21 1982. She is an American actor best known for her character Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV series Lost. Maggie Grace is originally from Worthington from Ohio left high school in order to move into Los Angeles after her divorced parents. They were struggling to get by when she got her first role in acting in the film Rachel's Room's main character. Following her win of a Young Artist Award in 2002 for her performance as Murder on the streets of Greenwich of 15 year aged Martha Moxley as a murder victim, she went on to be awarded. Grace Rutherford, a character she played in Lost from 2004 until 2005 was nominated for an Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace decided to concentrate on film following her role as Tom Welling's character in The Fog, in 2005. The role she played was Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken 2008) in Suburban Girl as well as The Jane Austen Book Club. The actress reprised her character in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a modern version from the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace reprised the role of Shannon in two episodes of Lost including the series finale. Grace appeared on Californication's 6th season which ran from 2013 until 2014. She plays Faith an actress in a group and as her muse to the stars who captures the eye of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. She's a Gyllenhaal, the child of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), she is a bit more senior than Jake Gyllenhaal. The first time she appeared in films of her father in his adolescent years. Together with her brother she appeared on the screen in Donnie Darko (2000). The next film she appeared in was Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind which was released in 2002 as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received critical acclaim for both her performances as the lead actress in Secretary (2002), an erotic romance drama drama and Sherrybaby (2006). The actress received a nomination from her fellow actors for the Golden Globe Award. The year 2006 was the time she had a number of films that were commercially successful, including World Trade Center. However the role she played as Rachel Dawes that brought her greater attention for her performance in The Dark Knight (2008). Following her acclaimed performance as a mother who is not married of Crazy Heart (2009), she was awarded the Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. In the following years, she starred in comedies and dramatic films: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012. Other parts include acting as a Secret Service agent for Secret Service in White House Down 2013, as a singer for Secret Service in White House Down 2013. She also appeared as a singer in Frank 2014 and also in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, where she is the title character. Gyllenhaal started her career as screenwriter, director and writer in the year 2021, when she wrote and directed her psychological horror film The Lost Daughter. The film received the award for Best Screenplay in the Venice International Film Festival, and was also nominated for the Academy Award.
